Re: Mitrovic
will cost too much money (they'll want something stupid like 35m+), look elsewhere

Re: Mitrovic
I'd have him in the squad of he was cheap. To suggest he's a worthy replacement for the exceptional (prior to the window version) Arnie is ludicrous. Arnie has so much more to his game. Mitrovic is also slower than Noble. Nearly.

In that he can play upfront on his own? Yes he is.

Put it this way, he is more similar to Arnie than the likes of Perez and Hernandez and would suit us better than them also.

Re: Mitrovic
He's nothing like arnie?

dealcanvey 6:22 Wed Feb 27
Re: Mitrovic
He is similar to the Arnie mould and I think that is what we need.

Two up top has not worked all season and with likes of Nasri and Lanzini as attacking midfielders I would prefer we play 3 CMs.

If Arnie was to stay and we get Mitrovic aswell I would be happy with that.

Hernandez and Perez can be moved on.

Yep, take your point.

Re: Mitrovic
Too slow imho Russ. Pellegrini loves fast nimble strikers and I'm pretty sure he's already written off Andy Carroll who is similar in playing up against CBs.

There's no way he'll go for Mitrovic imo. Mitrovic may well do OK elsewhere in Europe where lack of pace doesn't matter.Just my opinion...

Willtell:

I am surprised. I was going to say there is no chance we will sign him as he will going to bigger and better clubs than us. I think a lot of European top clubs will be looking at him.

I rate him highly. Excellent striker and would score bundles in a world class side.

But, just an opinion.

Re: Mitrovic
Really? Mitrovic? The fat slug that can't run and does Andy Carroll impressions. Some of you haven't seen that we've moved on. If Pellegrini wants Mitrovic I'll eat my hat...

Re: Mitrovic
Good with his feet - he's a footballer this should be a given.
good in the air - yup deffo
can run - is this where we are at? being able to run is a highlight?
scores goals - some

i'd say he is a decent replacement for AC, but not Arnie.

We can do a lot better I think.

April 1 is 5 weeks away!! turning circle of an oil tanker and looks like he needs to shift a bit of timber; you clearly were watching a different game last Friday.

Re: Mitrovic
Gaffer58 - You can still have someone who is a plan B though and Mitrovic would suit that role perfectly.

Re: Mitrovic
Someone who stays fit is a bonus, but in reality if we want to progress, we need to be looking at better players unless he's just as back up.

Don't exactly see any top half teams ever wanting to sign him, as they know his limitations.

Needs a lot of chances to score for me.

Gaffer58 4:28 Wed Feb 27
Re: Mitrovic
Why do we want anybody as a squad man/ backup, all the players should be starters so that there's proper competition.

I agree abour Wood, Barnes as well

VirginiaHam 4:23 Wed Feb 27
Re: Mitrovic
Ryan Fredricks caught him up over 15 yards, after a 2 yard start.

Slow isn't the word.

He had several chances to bury us in the away game too.

Thoughts?

HammerTime78 4:08 Wed Feb 27
Re: Mitrovic
Would be a very good signing but as a replacement for Carroll and Perez, not Arnie i.e. back-up / plan B.

I also quite like Chris Wood for that particular role.

Re: Mitrovic
Looks really immobile to me.

Not sure he'll be NIFTY enough for Pellers

Northern Sold 4:00 Wed Feb 27
Re: Mitrovic
Looks a bit limited whenever I seen him play but certainly has a good record

diehardhammer 3:51 Wed Feb 27
Re: Mitrovic
id take him as a back up striker but not for the first choice main striker, would like us to get Pellegrini's number 1 target of Gomez
